Palolem Beach India

What is your Favorite Beach

If you're reading my blog then you must love the beach. I mean come on, who doesn't love going to the beach? It's one of the few places in life where you can enjoy the peace and tranquility. I think we all need a little bit of the beach in our lives right now. My question to you is, what is your favorite beach? You must have one beach that you think about often or maybe you are really lucky and get to visit often. Why do you love it? What is it about that beach that makes it your happy place? Is it a good walking beach? Maybe it's the perfect place to sit and watch the sunrise or the sunset?

I've been to ALOT of beaches. If there was a Guiness Book of World Record for a person who has been to the most amount of beaches, I'm pretty sure I would win that one. I grew up in Florida and Deerfield Beach was literally my backyard where I played everyday. I lived in Seattle for a few years and know what it feels like to be without the ocean. I had Puget Sound and Alki Beach, but it just wasn't the same. I now live in Maine where the beaches are darker and feel richer full of life. Good-bye conch shell and hello mussel shell. I get asked all the time which beach is my favorite. It can be a really hard question to answer because I love so many of them for so many different reasons. How lame did that sound? This is a question that I have been giving some thought to recently mostly because I can't travel due to COVID restrictions. Would you like to know my favorite beach?

My favorite beach is in Goa India called Palolem Beach. It's the only beach I have ever been to where cows walk freely and sky lanterns are launched at dusk. I stayed in a very modern beach cabana for two weeks that was wonderful. They had a restaurant attached to the cabana's that served a Goan thali plate made of healthy raw food cuisine that was amazing. In the evenings you can walk by the restaurants and see all the fresh fish that was caught for the day and pick out your meal. You can also go to a Silent Rave which is a pretty unique experience. You show up and are given headphones and dance around all over Palolem beach. It's clean and you can swim in the warm unpolluted water that is the Arabian Sea. The entire beach has a really peaceful, safe, and laid back hippie vibe. The bohemian beach bum in me wants to go there every winter if I could.

This beach is my paradise. This beach is my happy place. Palolem Beach will always be my favorite beach.
