New Product - Beach Tees
I had so much fun designing our Beach Tee Collection. All the beach artwork are my own drawings from over the years. I love to draw and always wanted to incorporate my artwork and do something with it. I sorta thought that I would make art prints or notecards using my drawings until one day when I was looking at my clam shell drawing. I just thought it would look so great on a t-shirt. I knew nothing about t-shirts and printing artwork on them so this was all new territory for me. The little amount of research that I did for this collection really opened my eyes about t-shirts. There are tons of people designing t-shirts so I knew it wasn't going to be hard to figure out. I think the hardest part for me during this whole entire process was actually finding the t-shirts that I wanted to use.
There are 1,000's of t-shirts to pick from and every single one of them fit differently. I've never had really good luck finding a t-shirt that fit me. I'm a 6 foot tall lady so most t-shirts I see that I like are just too short. I don't want to wear a tee that comes above my belly button, I'm not Britney Spears. The t-shirts that I find that are long enough are perfect right until I have to wash them. People are never honest when you ask them about shrinkage. Every time I wash a tee it always shrinks no matter what temperature I use and it gets donated. I even tried wearing a smaller mens shirts, but they are usually too boxy (I'm skinny) and the designs just aren't feminine enough. It was very frustrating so I stopped shopping for t-shirts.
I spent about a year finding the perfect tee. It's long enough and shrinkage is minimal if you throw it in a hot wash. These are soft and eco-friendly t-shirts manufactured in the United States. They are a blend of 100% Airlume combed, ring-spun cotton and a touch of polyester for a light and comfy shirt that washes and wears well. The inks we use are water-based biodegradable inks which means they are non-toxic and eco-friendly. These are really great beach tees that you'll actually want to wear. I've been wearing them for about 8 months now and they've been holding really great.
I'm always drawing all the time so you'll constantly see new beach tee designs being updated to the website. I currently have a clam shell design, mussel shell design, and an oyster shell design (shown in the photo). My lobster and rose artwork made it on a tee as well as my favorite mermaid. I'm currently working on an anchor design and a lighthouse design, but they aren't ready for the beach tees yet. I'm a perfectionist so I want my beach designs to crush it. I 'm really proud of this beach tee collection and can't wait to see you wearing them. Click here to shop the new Beach Tee Collection.
